Why the Stock Market is Bouncing Back!

COVID-19 has changed investing – well maybe not so much.  We recently came across this video from Fox Business News.  Stuart Varney introduces an acronym called TINA.  According to his judgement, the reason stocks are bouncing back so quickly is that There Is No Alternative (TINA).   We found this short video clip insightful and thought it worth sharing with you.

How to Stay Positive in 2020!

As recently as late May, much of the populations of the United States and Canada were living life as they normally would. A few short weeks later, when COVID-19 began to affect a greater number of people, many businesses grinded to a halt. Schools were closed to students, and governments instructed people to stay home as much as possible.

“Social distancing” quickly became part of the general lexicon, with people in many cities and towns staying six feet apart from others when venturing into the public, but mainly staying at home. While it is still too soon to determine the lasting impact of COVID-19, the psychological effects of social distancing were apparent almost immediately. According to Dr. Adam Kaplin, M.D. PhD., a neuroscientist at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, anyone who has had some trauma in the past may discover that social distancing rekindled previous traumatic feelings. Emily Roberts, a New York-based psychotherapist, says any form of isolation can be devastating to a person’s mood because they are left with their own thoughts.

Various strategies can help to ease the potential psychological burden of social distancing and give people a new perspective on their situation.

· Focus on the positives. Look at what you have gained rather than lost from social distancing. This may translate to more time with the family; opportunities to exercise more; time to engage in a hobby; or chances to finish up projects around the house.

· Get fresh air. Where laws allow, make time daily to get outdoors, even if it’s for a short jaunt around the neighborhood. Seeing new sights can be good for the mind, and exercise also is good for the body.

· Establish a routine. A routine helps anyone feel more in control, which is helpful when so much of the consequences of COVID-19 are beyond individuals’ control. Psychology Today recommends rising and going to bed on your typical schedule, eating meals at regular intervals and making time for different activities each day.

· Reach out to people. Social distancing does not mean you have to cease being social. Contact friends or family on the phone, through video chats or even speak with them at a safe distance in person. If you need professional help, many therapists now offer telehealth therapy sessions.

· Turn off the news. Take a break from the constant onslaught of information. This can reduce stress and anxiety and allow the brain to focus on positive thoughts and ideas.

· Express gratitude. Give thanks for what you have each day and try to help others who may be less fortunate than you.

Social distancing has been a trial for everyone involved. Certain strategies can help turn grief into gratitude.

Vintage United States Corporations

Shelf corporations in the United States have many profound business purposes. They are frequently used for holding personal or business assets.  Another common purpose for the creation of a shelf corporation is as a turn-key business package that can later be sold to someone who wants to start and operate a company without going through the effort to form a new one.   Others might benefit who may not qualify for a bank loan, line of credit, or government contract because they or their existing company does not have the required credit scores or a two to five year established business history.  By purchasing a shelf corporation, an entrepreneur now instantly owns an established company that has been “in business” for several years without debts or liabilities.

For Non-U.S. citizens, owning a shelf corporation in the United States may enhance privacy and open new markets.  Since the United States is not a participant in the OECD Common Reporting Standards, it is often looked upon as a privacy haven for non-citizens looking to invest here.  The Common Reporting Standard (“CRS”),  was created by the OECD in 2014 pursuant to a meeting of the G-20 nations in Australia and calls for the automatic exchange of financial account information between agreeing jurisdictions. It should also be noted, however, that to open a bank account, Non-U.S. citizens will likely need to travel to the United States and meet with potential banks.

Therefore by owning a pre-established corporate entity, you are able to take advantage of the following benefits:

1- Instant availability & fast delivery

2- Show longevity of company filing

3- Immediately own a company with a filing history

4- Ready for immediate transfer as no stock is currently issued

5- May help when applying for contracts and financing

6- Privacy & Asset protection for Non-US Citizens

Tonal Review

Can a $4,000 home gym apparatus be worth it?  Perhaps, but frankly, we could not pull the trigger on that purchase and have used TRX straps with dumbbells during the pandemic.  In any case, the introduction of Tonal might create a new wave of home gym tech products which will forever change working out.  We came across this review during our research and thought insightful and very fair.    Hope you find it as interesting as we did.

Kick Your Father’s Day Burgers Up a Notch!

The year 2020 is one few people will soon forget. Life changed dramatically and perhaps forever in 2020, when the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19 forced billions of people across the globe to make sacrifices in an effort to prevent the spread of the potentially deadly virus.

The sacrifices made in response to COVID-19 are perhaps most noticeable on holidays, when people accustomed to gathering with family and friends were unable to do so, or only able to do so on limited terms.

Despite those restrictions, people continued to celebrate on holidays like Easter and Memorial Day, and the Fourth of July does not figure to be any different. Fourth of July celebrations often take place in the backyard by the grill, and this year marks a perfect opportunity to expand your culinary repertoire. This recipe for “Best Burger With Blue Cheese Butter” courtesy of Eric Treuille and Birgit Erath’s “Grilling” (DK Publishing) offers a new take on a backyard barbecue staple.

Best Burger With Blue Cheese Butter

Serves 4

1 pound ground chuck steak

2 teaspoons salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

4 1/2-inch slices blue cheese butter (see below)

4 sesame hamburger buns, halved

Combine ground steak with salt and pepper. Divide into 4 equal-sized pieces and gently shape into 4 burgers about 1-inch-thick. Grill burgers and warm buns according to instructions below. Top burgers with butter and serve hot in sesame buns.

Outdoor cooking:

Grill over hot coals for 3 minutes per side for rare, 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or 5 minutes per side for well done. Place buns cut side down on grill until warm and lightly golden, 1 minute.

Indoor cooking:

Preheat a ridged cast-iron grill pan over high heat. Cook for 3 minutes per side for rare, 4 minutes per side for medium rare, or 5 minutes per side for well done. Place buns cut side down on grill pan until warm lightly golden, 1 minute.

Blue-Cheese Butter

Makes 15 servings

16 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened

4 ounces (1 cup crumbled) blue cheese

2 teaspoons black pepper

Place ingredients in a food processor or blender; pulse until well blended. Wrap in foil. Place in the freezer until hard, about 45 minutes. To serve, roll back foil and cut into 1/2-inch slices. When slicing from frozen, warm the knife under hot water first. After slicing, always tightly rewrap the unused flavored butter roll in the foil before returning to refrigerator or freezer.

Best Burger Variations

· Herbed Burger: Add 2 teaspoons fresh thyme leaves or 1 teaspoon dried thyme, 1 crushed garlic clove and 1 tablespoon finely chopped onion to the ground steak.

· Spicy Burger: Add 1/2 teaspoon tabasco, 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce and 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard to the ground steak.

Think ahead:

Shape burgers up to 1 day in advance. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate.

Cooks’ Note: Overhandling the meat when shaping will result in a tough, dry burger. To guarantee a juicy burger, handle the meat as little as possible.

Unique Ways to Make Father’s Day 2020 Special!

Like a handful of holidays that came before it, Father’s Day in 2020 will be different than in years past. Due to the outbreak of the novel coronavirus COVID-19, much of the world continues to live under some degree of stay-at-home restrictions. Those guidelines will influence how people can celebrate Father’s Day.

St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Memorial Day celebrations were all affected by the COVID-19 outbreak, so people may now be accustomed to celebrating in the era of social distancing. But those looking for unique ways to let Dad know how much he’s loved and appreciated can consider these ideas to make Father’s Day special in 2020.

Game day

It’s a tradition in many families to take dad to a ballgame on Father’s Day. But many sports leagues have been forced to shut down to prevent the spread of COVID-19, while even those that have returned to action are doing so without fans in the stands. But that doesn’t mean Dad still can’t enjoy a ballgame outdoors this Father’s Day. If there’s room in the backyard, set up a television outdoors and stream a classic game (many sports channels have compensated for no live action by broadcasting classic games from years past). For apartment dwellers, charge up a tablet, take Dad to a local park and let him relax as he streams a ballgame.

“Go” golfing

If Dad’s an avid golfer, finding a tee time on a local course may be difficult come Father’s Day. While many golf courses are were among the first businesses to reopen, competition for tee times may be steep, especially on Father’s Day. But that doesn’t mean Dad can’t still play a round on Father’s Day. Moms and kids can turn their yards into a mini golf course for Dad. Use beach buckets to create sand traps and create makeshift flags to mark each “green.” Then take turns serving as Dad’s caddies as he traverses his very own course.

Dine “out”

A reservation at Dad’s favorite ethnic restaurant might not be possible this Father’s Day, but that doesn’t mean the family cannot still dine out and indulge in some of Dad’s favorite foods. Let Dad relax as Mom and the kids whip up a favorite ethnic meal for Dad, serving it up al fresco on the patio or the deck for dinner.

Father’s Day 2020 will be different than any other. But there’s still many ways for families to make this Father’s Day one Dad will remember for all the right reasons.

Asset Protection & Profit!

As a Non-Banking Financial Institution, a Swiss Trust Company offers one primary benefit to ownership and numerous secondary advantages.  First and foremost, a Swiss Trust Company stands alone for anyone who wishes to manage money and profit from those activities.  It is inexpensive to purchase (and operate) and can be quickly obtained.  Plus, the prestige of Switzerland offers ownership instant credibility, especially when coupled with an older Trust Company.  No other jurisdiction can make these claims.  Thus, initial expenditures are kept to a minimum; operational outlays are kept low while profits have the greatest possible upside.  Moreover, ownership never has to leave their country of residence since all operations can be outsourced.  Secondary benefits of owning a Swiss Trust Company would include: Asset Protection & Establishing a European Base of Operations for Trade.
