Global Common Cents
Outsourcing is a controversial business movement and has been trending for decades. Perhaps you have recently received a call from your credit card company, or a phone service that obviously originated from the Philippines or a similar jurisdiction. Since labor is significantly cheaper in those areas of the world outsourcing has been popular alternative to the expense a company might encounter in the United States.A change in this trend is not imminent and if anything, it seems the pending increase in United States tax and red tape will likely drive business to these offshore locations. Countries who offer the most innovative incentives will be the winners.
We still live in a world economy that competes for business capital. This is hardly a bold prediction since it’s just good “Global Common Cents.”

The Power of the Moment

March Madness 2021 had one of the best college basketball games in history when #11ranked UCLA was playing #1 ranked Gonzaga in the semi-finals of the tournament. The game went in overtime and the score was 90-90 with 1.3 seconds left. The players and fans alike were getting ready to go into double overtime when Jalen Suggs got a little bit past half court and hit a buzzer beating 3-point shot! As time was running out, he just threw the ball up and it miraculously went in and just like that, Gonzaga advanced to the finals.
Now, let’s talk about what really happened. In an after-game interview, Jalen Suggs talked about how he practices that same shot every day at practice and he just went up with confidence and shot it. Jalen Suggs “I always wanted to run up on the table like Kobe or D-Wade.” It was a shot that he had shot hundreds of times in his head. When the situation presented itself up in the game, he was able to execute the shot in 1 second with focus and confidence.
There are several lessons we can learn from this exciting game. When you have goals, a vision and a clear mind, anything is possible. If it were that simple, it wouldn’t have been front page news and stunned absolutely everyone watching the game. Setting goals is standard in sports and business. Many people have written books and blogs on how to set and achieve goals. It starts with your long-term goal and then you break it down to short term goals and you break those down to daily and weekly goals that will all lead you to reach your long-term goal. It sounds simple if you follow the outline that you have laid out, however, reaching your goals is not that black and white. There are all kinds of variables outside of your control that will cause you to have to adjust your goals along the way. There are family commitments, injuries, self-doubt, and mini failures along the way. We are all working towards being able to reach our personal goals while keeping a healthy balance in our lives. One of the best ways to achieve this is to be able to clear our mind so we can stay in the moment and compartmentalize our day. When we feel our mind drifting from our work to our afternoon golf game or when we are trying to enjoy the afternoon golf game and all we can think about is work, it prevents us from being productive. Since we are all human, it is natural to have many different things on our mind and sometimes have a hard time staying focused in the moment. The best way to calm our mind is to learn how to use deep breathing to redirect our focus back to the task at hand. Our brains are designed to only focus on one thing at a time. It all starts by taking a deep breath to clear our mind. A deep breath is more than just a quick inhale and exhale.
Let us walk through a Deep Breath!
- Breath in for 6 seconds (feel the breath coming up your diaphragm as you count to 6).
- Hold the breath for 2 seconds.
- Now breath out for a count of 8 seconds.
Depending on how distracted you are, you can repeat this several times. It helps to relax you and brings you back to the present moment. The more you practice this valuable tool, the better you will become at it.

Why Own a Swiss Trust Company in 2021?
As a Non-Banking Financial Institution, a Swiss Trust Company offers one primary benefit to ownership and numerous secondary advantages. First and foremost, a Swiss Trust Company stands alone for anyone who wishes to manage money and profit from those activities. It is inexpensive to purchase (and operate) and can be quickly obtained. Plus, the prestige of Switzerland offers ownership instant credibility, especially when coupled with an older Trust Company.
No other jurisdiction can make these claims. Thus, initial expenditures are kept to a minimum; operational outlays are kept low while profits have the greatest possible upside. Moreover, ownership never has to leave their country of residence since all operations can be outsourced. Swiss Trust Company owners should be careful, though, of any solicitation restrictions that may be in place in their home country. Secondary benefits of owning a Swiss Trust Company would include: Asset Protection & Establishing a European Base of Operations for Trade.
Top Reasons to Own a Swiss Trust Company in 2021
- US Real Estate Developers: To raise & manage capital from private overseas investors to fund real estate development in the United States. Also applies to similar industries.
- Wealthy Families or Business Partners: To use as a management tool to protect, invest and consolidate wealth by warehousing assets and segregating interests via mandate for reinvestment reflecting differing tolerance to risk.
- South African Business Owners: Manage international profits in response to government currency controls in country of origin. Also applies to other countries with similar restrictions in place.
- Financial Services: To use as an alternative to owning a “Captive Bank” or Class B Bank. The cost of time and money to establish ownership of bank has soared while profit multiples have plummeted. Thus, a Swiss Trust Company can be an attractive alternative for international business.
- Internet Based Business Owners: Enhance corporate profile while at the same time establishing a quality European beachhead with an outstanding professional network of attorneys and bankers.
- Import Industry & Shipping Industry: Control transactions more efficiently and establish true corresponding bank relationships.

Tips for Time Management!
Time management is an crucial skill in the best of times. With many of us still working from home for the first time, it is more important than ever to get it right.
1. Set Priorities: Begin by setting priorities. This involves making a list of all the tasks that need to be completed, and then putting them in order of most essential to least essential. Once you understand where to first devote your attention, address items on the list in order of their priority.
2. Develop Goals: Goals do not have to be far-off ideas for the future. They can be easily reached today. Simple goals such as, "I want to remove all nonessential paperwork from my desk" can be tackled quickly and without much effort. Goals give a person something to work toward and are important ways to steer you in the right direction. Without goals, you may wander aimlessly. Accomplishing goals of all shapes and sizes gives a feeling of accomplishment.
3. Avoid Distractions: Distractions can pull attention away from important tasks at hand. Distractions can be phone calls, text alerts, personal issues, people in the room, and many other things. Figure out how you work best and minimize distractions so that you can fully focus on your priorities.
4. Stop Multitasking: Unfortunately, multitasking is not the key to getting more things done. In fact, it could actually be hurting performance. Research conducted at Stanford University discovered that multitasking is less productive than doing a single thing at a time. You simply cannot put full effort into multiple things at once - and something will be short-changed if you try.
5. Write Things Down: Keeping information floating around your mind is ineffective and can lead to stress. Put things down on paper or make digital notes to keep track of what needs to get done. Set your targets and break each task down to manageable pieces. Physically cross items off your list as they are completed.
Time management is a skill that can be learned with practice and focusing on elements of success.
Many businesses were thrown into the proverbial deep end when forced to go remote due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Challenges present themselves during such transitions, but these challenges can be overcome with a handful of effective strategies.

The Health Benefits of Quinoa!
Whole grains are vital components of a healthy diet. According to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, whole grains provide a host of nutritious benefits, including some that were discovered only recently.
The AND notes that whole grains were long seen as rich in fiber, which promotes healthy digestion and heart health. That's still true, and WebMD notes that many whole grains provide between one and four grams of fiber per serving, an amount that puts them on the same level as various fruits and vegetables in regard to fiber content. But recent research has found that whole grains also are rich in protein, B vitamins and trace minerals like iron, magnesium and zinc.
Quinoa is one highly nutritious whole grain that's easy to find and even easier to prepare. Quinoa is considered a complete protein, which means it includes all nine essential amino acids. Why is that important? To understand that, it's best to first consider the importance of protein. Protein is comprised of 20 amino acids, 11 of which the body can produce on its own. For optimal health, the body needs all 20 amino acids. Diet is the only way to get the nine essential amino acids that your body cannot produce on its own. Complete proteins like quinoa provide all nine in a single food, making them especially healthy, convenient options for people looking to ensure they get enough protein in their diets.
As noted, whole grains are good sources of iron, and quinoa is no exception. That's a considerable benefit, as iron is an essential part of hemoglobin, a red protein that's responsible for transporting oxygen in the blood.
Quinoa also is a good source of magnesium. That's another significant benefit of including quinoa in your diet, as the Office of Dietary Supplements notes low levels of magnesium have been linked to various ailments, including high blood pressure, cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
Pregnant women or women hoping to become pregnant, as well as their male partners, also can discuss the benefits of including quinoa in their diets with their physicians. That's because quinoa is high in the B vitamin folate, which is needed to perform various functions in the body, including the production of red and white blood cells in the bone marrow. Adequate folic acid consumption before and during pregnancy can protect against miscarriages and congenital defects. And while women may be familiar with the importance of folate regarding their pregnancies or future pregnancies, men also may need to monitor their folate intake. A 2013 study from researchers at McGill University in Montreal found that paternal folate deficiency in mice was associated with a significant increase in congenital deformities.
Whole grains like quinoa benefit the body in myriad ways, making them worthy additions to anyone's diet.

The Masters Golf Tournament
Insights of Rick Smith
The Masters Golf Tournament is this week Obviously, this year has special meaning as the world shows definitive signs of getting back to normal. As such, I thought it an appropriate time to highlight some of the insights of Augusta National Golf Course from Rick Smith, who is one of golf’s greatest teachers. Rick’s notable clients have included major champions such as Jack Nicklaus, Lee Janzen, Vijay Singh, David Duval, John Daly and Greg Norman. Rick was also Phil Mickelson's personal golf coach when he first won the Masters in 2004 and in addition was the host of "the Big Break" on the Golf Channel.
We've seen all of it on TV where you have the immaculate fairways, and the color just jumps off the set with sugar white bunkers and of course, the green jackets. Here are a few insights from behind the scenes that you might not know:
RS: I think the tradition of the Masters even makes it more special than the beauty. The tradition of knowing that Gene Sarazen holed out a double eagle on the 15th, Jack Nicklaus charged in '86 to win with a 30 on the back nine at Augusta. You can almost see Bobby Jones standing there with Alister McKinsey on specific holes designing the golf course. All those things are part of what makes Augusta special and makes the Masters special and then when you take the people that have not won the green jack you know from Ernie Els, Norman to Lee Trevino, they obviously have not won here that makes it even more special.
JC: You mentioned the rules, what might a layperson not know about Augusta and its rules?
RS: No autographs on the other side of the clubhouse at the turn. None, and they enforce it. I think that’s good because it’s like saying to Michael Jordon in between the 2nd and 3rd quarter, “I need you to sign an autograph and will you please tell me about your family.” No one is allowed on the practice-tee other than the player and their teacher. At other events there’s vendors and phones going off, it can get pretty crazy. The other area where their rules differ is the clubhouse environment. It is very strict, and you can’t just get in. You can’t just have a ticket, to get into the clubhouse is hardest ticket in any sport. It’s harder that a Super Bowl ticket. Also, the fact is they have green everywhere. From green cups to green wrap around their sandwiches. By the way, the Pimento sandwich is famous at Augusta. They just do things different, it’s unlike any other event that you’ve ever seen. It’s almost like going back in time.
