Brokering International Business Acquisitions - Since 1991
San Diego - Zurich

Recently elected President, Ricardo Martinelli pledges to change his country by helping Panama become a world class maritime commercial and financial center; overturning the common misconception that the country is best known for financial corruption. A conservative tycoon who advocates a flat tax and infrastructure development, Martinelli won the presidency in a landslide victory showing that the citizens of Panama are indeed ready for a change. Martinelli’s stand on the recent hot issue of tax havens is two fold: first, he disagrees with US lawmakers that say Panama has failed to deal with tax evasion and second, he is open to sharing tax information with US authorities. While the promise of a changed Panama will be received positively throughout the international business community, it remains to be seen the true changes that will result from Martinelli’s reign.
